MAN COLAPSES IN COURT, SLAPPED WITH LIFE IMPRISONMENT FOR DEFILING DAUGHTERS.

41-year-old Boniface Macharia collapsed in court after the Thika Resident Magistrate Esther Mburu handed him a life sentence on Wednesday for defiling his two daughters and threatening to kill them in case they disclosed his heinous acts.
Macharia had been accused of defiling his 17 and 14-year-old daughters on May 24 and 27, at Kamwangi in Gatundu North sub-county. He defiled the girls in separate incidents in the absence of their mother.
His 17-year-old daughter told court that her father called her to his bedroom and defiled her while her mother was away. She said she confided the incident to her teachers who reported the matter to the police.
She told court her dad disappeared from home on learning police officers had been instructed to arrest him.
On her part, the 14-year-old daughter was the first victim of the criminal act the court heard before Macharia was handed the sentence. She told the court that her dad defiled her in their mother's hotel opposite their residential house in Gatundu.
Macharia pleaded with the court for leniency arguing that his wife had used the under-aged girls to frame him since she wanted to divorce him.
The police had to carry the unconscious Mr Macharia to the court cells after collapsing following  the judgement. However, the prosecution allowed him to appeal the sentence in fourteen days.
