Thika Town Constituency Member of Parliament Alice Ng’ang’a has asked the Kiambu County government to allocate more funds on infrastructure to complete ongoing projects in the constituency.
Speaking when she commissioned the construction of the Matasia Bridge in Maguguni in Thika East on Wednesday, Ng’ang’a said that some of the projects were taking too long to be completed and were likely to stall.
She said that some of the projects especially road renovations, have taken too long to be completed adding that contractors could be slowing down due to inadequate funds to buy materials.
“The Kiambu County government must increase allocations on infrastructure development to speed up repair and renovation of roads and other infrastructure developments,” she said.
The Thika legislator noted that 80 per cent of the roads commissioned for repair in the constituency have not been completed.
She said that delay in completion of projects was denying residents services.
“Thika residents have been complaining to me over the time taken by contractors to complete road repairs,” she said.
The MP said that she will continue to push the county government to do more on development projects.
