Renowned Thika Businessman Passes On.

The Late William Gatuhi Murathe
It is with profound sorrow as Thika Town Today that we send our deep felt condolences to the family and friends of The Late William Gatuhi Murathe, a renowned businessman in Thika for over four decades.

The late Gatuhi Murathe, who is father to former Gatanga MP David Murathe, passed on Saturday, April 8 2017 at the Aga Khan Hospital where he was undergoing medication.

The Late Gatuhi was the proprietor of Murathe Plaza behind the former December Hotel and a renowned 

Wines & Spirits trader, Coffee farmer and also ventured heavily in transportation and housing construction.

He was one of the founding African businessmen in Kenya and amongst first pioneer beneficiaries of the Africanisation programme of the Kenyan government.

The late Gatuhi was an ardent and passionate believer in not only serving the community but initiating and overseeing various development projects within his home area of Gatanga and elsewhere in Kenya. He will be remembered as a dedicated and long serving member of the 
Presbyterian Church of East Africa (PCEA). 

The late Gatuhi was born on 15th January 1931 in Kigio Village Gatanga Sub-County.
Friends and relatives are meeting at Garden Estate residence Nairobi and at Bendor Estate Thika from 5pm from tomorrow (Monday) to Thursday 13th April, 2017.


Funeral details will be announced later.
