Man Dies After Jumping From Building In Thika.

Police in Thika are investigating circumstances surrounding the death of a 36-year old man in Ngoingwa Estate in Thika West District.

The young man is said to have died on the spot after jumping off the rooftop of the flat which is still under construction on Tuesday after what eye witnesses say was a drinking spree.

He resides on the first floor of the same building and according to neighbours, he was in the company of some friends before the incident occurred.

It is alleged that after the friends left, the man made his way to the rooftop before jumping off. He sustained a fractured forehead and died moments after police arrived at the scene.

Thika Deputy OCPD Julius Chumbule confirmed the incident and added that the police will seek more details to ascertain the circumstances that led to his fatal death.

The man's identity is being withheld from the public until his next of kin have been notified.

This case adds to a number of recent incidents in the country involving people reportedly jumping off buildings or committing suicide.
