TWO SCHOOL KIDS SERIOUSLY INJURED IN EARLY MONDAY MORNING ACCIDENT NEAR CRAVERS.

Two school girls were taken to The Thika Level 5 Hospital with critical injuries after being hit by a matatu as they were using a cross walk near Cravers Motel at about 6:30 a.m this morning.

The two girls, one a pupil in Garissa Road and Kianjau Primary Schools, were in the company of others from neighbouring schools when a speeding Toyota Hiace PSV matatu, allegedly being driven by a conductor, hit them as they were walking to school along the Thika-Garissa Road from Witeithie Estate.

The driver of the van immediately fled the scene of the accident on foot, probably for fearing the wrath of wananchi who were heading to various destination in the early morning incident.

Immediately after, a quick response by members of public ensured that the two were rushed to hospital. One of them was taken with some head injuries.

This is a developing news story and will be updated. However, they are investigating the incident and Thika Town Today will have further details as they become available.

Otherwise, medics at the Thika Level 5 Hospital confirmed that the two are in stable condition.

This section of Garissa Road as well the other part at the General Kago Junction near Bidco Africa Ltd have been a dangerous especially for school going children. So many children and adults have lost their lives as vehicles speed along the highway.
