BE PRO-ACTIVE, TDBA ADVISES KIAMBU COUNTY GOVERNMENT

Thika District Business Association (TDBA) secretary Mr. Wanyoike has challenged both the national and county governments to be pro-active in their strategy instead of waiting for disasters to happen for them to rush to contain them. He was reacting to the challenges the county government was facing in relation to the El Niño rains.

He said that it was quite unfortunate that there were reports of destruction of property in some sections of Thika Sub-County by El Niño rains considering the fact that there had been money set aside for El Niño preparedness.

"Someone must have slept on the job for such calamities to be experienced in this era and age. As Thika business people, we call for proper management of rain water to avoid any further losses," said Mr. Wanyoike.

However, on behalf of Thika business community, he thanked the county government and the security chiefs in Thika for their continued co-operation in ensuring a conducive business environment. He called on them to further improve it so that Thika can eventually become a 24-hour economy.

He also appealed to both the national and county governments to ease the stringent bureaucratic process that was making it very hard for the youth to access the Youth, UWEZO and Biashara Funds.
