YOU WON'T BELIEVE WHAT CENTRAL KENYA BREWERS ARE USING TO MAKE LIQOUR!


Thika Town MP, Alice Ng’ang’a has appealed to law enforcement agencies to investigate claims that illegal beer brewers use mortuary chemicals in beer making. It was claimed that police recovered formalin samples in the illegal beer brewing dens in some parts of Central and Rift Valley regions during the recent crackdown on illicit brews. The drug is used in the preservation of bodies in mortuaries. detrimental in the long-run if not checked.

Addressing residents in Thika town on Thursday,  Ms Ng'ang'a said, “I was shocked to see the drugs being used by the illicit brewers in preparing beer," she said. "If these people have no access to mortuaries, then where do the get these drugs from."

The MP was among parliamentarians who recently led a crackdown on illicit beer dens in various parts of the former Central Province.

The MP who was accompanied by her Kiambu Town counterpart Jude Njomo called on the county government of Kiambu to put measures that will deter the brewing of such liquor in the county.
She said she would relentlessly fight the sale of products which pose a health risk to residents.
