REVEALED: WOMEN IN CENTRAL TO BLAME FOR DECLINE IN BIRTHS

The Kenya Demographic Health Survey 2014 (KDHS) has revealed that alcoholism in men is not the main reason for the decline in birth rate in Central Kenya. The survey shows that 7 in every 10 women of reproductive age in the region are on birth control.

The truth is women in Central Kenya are greatly responsible for the changing demographics in the region but have been blaming their drunken men.
The sale of family planning products in Central and Nairobi has been on an upward trajectory in the last two decades. It has been scientifically proven that the sustained high use of contraceptives in any community changes the structure of the population, including a decline at the lower ages.

Kirinyaga, Nyeri, Kiambu and Nairobi counties lead the country with women getting the least number of children in that order.
